Avec des influences à chercher du coté de la scratch music, du broken beat, du dub ou du jazz, Certain Sound est un disque moderne et accessible. Dès le premier titre, Delusions, on sait que les trois protagonistes prennent leur taf au sérieux. Le titre parle de démocratie et du gouvernement américains, mais les allergiques au « rap conscient » se régaleront des titres instru. En particulier Expansion (qui sample un morceau de Lonnie Liston Smith qui porte le même titre), magnifique plage musicale qui évolue sur plus de cinq minutes sans tomber dans les travers du trip hop.
