Pugslee Atomz
Playing With Matches

Man of the people and Chicago's hardest working emcee, Pugslee Atomz, returns with the story of his introduction to Hip Hop through the gritty and sometimes dangerous world of graffiti. While still displaying his characteristic wordplay and charisma, this is an older and more experienced Pugs, whose warmly nostalgic reminisces of Hip Hop are balanced by run-ins with undercover police and greedy industry marketers. The contrast between the perilous reality and the youthful idealism of Hip Hop is perhaps the heart of "Playing With Matches": a lot of kids play at Hip Hop without realizing the danger and dedication necessary to make it All City.

Featuring vocals by Binkis Res, Seel Fresh, Encyclopedia Brown and conversations with some of graffiti’s elite.

Executive produced by Polyphonic, with production by V Traxxx, Kato, Credo, Maker, Mr. Diggs and Mike G.

This is an enhanced CD and contains both the "Playing With Matches" and "Griffin" videos if played in a CD-ROM drive.

Muzic.com
"Once the delay of the intro washes over you like the rush of a pill you took 30 minutes ago, you're hooked into the underground sound coming straight out of Chicago. Pugslee Atomz is a surge of lowerworld bliss for all you rap fans who are a burnt on all that Kanye West and Lupe Fiasco hype."

"The laid back lyrical style, combined with this memory-inducing production, combine to create something that feels like art rather than pop."

"funky and excellent ... A CD that’s simply good, heck, really good if not to say great ... And damn, is Chicago putting out any wack records right now?"
