Noticeably Negro is Serengeti's charismatic abstractions, wry storytelling and observations on racial identity and society. It's a new direction for Serengeti; while still excelling at infectious tunes like "Bubble Bath" he has moved into more spacey beatscapes like "Bubble's Place". Long-time Geti collaborator Midas Wells crafted the melodic, gritty beats that ground Helias' echoing Atari-esque scratches. Serengeti is joined on the mic by MF Grimm, Juice and others. This is as "underground rap" as Serengeti gets, crunchy and lo fi with the Getiking swaggering on the mic like a postmodern bard drunk on TV and raw deals.
