Serengeti
Dennehy (Lights, Camera, Action!)
2008

Back in 2006, Serengeti released the album Dennehy on another imprint. However, the production of the album did not remain true to the rapper's concept. It was marred by missing tracks, had tracks that did not even belong on the album, and to top it off the order of the tracks was incorrect. In the re-release, we follow the lives of the characters as they grow and find meaning in the least likely of relationships. Serengeti's musical glows with the humor of a John Hughes film based in a working class Chicago beset by drugs, class and racism.

Based on the original screenplay written by Serengeti, the 2008 re-release of the Dennehy. album recasts the songs and characters into a surreal hip-hop musical (a la A Prince Among Thieves). It features the quintessential Chicagoan Kenny, the Emo Kid, and the stories that inspired the album’s cult following. Including seven previously unreleased songs, new skits, as well as re-mixed and re-mastered versions of the original songs, this is Serengeti's definitive vision of the album.
